Glazbenik sa širokom međunarodnom karijerom, britanski dirigent i orguljaš Michael Bawtree ravnao je Kraljevskim škotskim nacionalnim orkestrom, Škotskim komornim orkestrom, Londonskim izvođačima Mozarta, Ansamblom Crvena nota, orkestrom Škotske opere i mnogim izvedbama Škotskog baleta i Sjevernog baleta diljem Britanskog otočja. Michael Bawtree je glavni dirigent JAM-a (John Armitage Memorial). Michael Bawtree je već 13 sezona voditelj zbora Edinburgh Royal Choral Union i šef dirigent Komornog zbora u Glasgowu. Umjetnički je ravnatelj Komornog zbora Sveučilišta u Edinburghu. Također je surađivao s Chorus Edinburgh Festivalom, zborom RSNO (kao v.d. voditelja zbora) i Andreom Bocellijem, te na turnejama s drugim zborovima diljem Europe, Sjeverne Amerike, Hong Konga i Novog Zelanda. Novije i nadolazeće gostujuće angažmane uključuju koncerte u Švedskoj, Nizozemskoj, Njemačkoj, Farskim otocima i Francuskoj. Na prvom nastupu u Royal Albert Hallu 2015. godine, ravnao je Londonskom filharmonijom u izvedbi Mozartovog Requiema. A musician with a wide-ranging international career, British conductor and organist Michael Bawtree has directed the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Red Note Ensemble, the Orchestra of Scottish Opera and many performances for Scottish Ballet and Northern Ballet across the British Isles. Michael Bawtree is Principal Conductor of JAM (John Armitage Memorial). For 13 seasons Michael Bawtree has been Chorus Director of the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union and Music Director of Glasgow Chamber Choir. He is Artistic Director of Edinburgh University Chamber Choir. He has also worked with the Edinburgh Festival Chorus, the RSNO chorus (as Acting Chorus Director) and Andrea Bocelli, and toured with other choruses across Europe, North America, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Recent and upcoming guest conducting engagements include concerts in Sweden, Holland, Germany, Faroe Islands and France. He made his debut at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015 conducting Mozart’s Requiem with the London Philharmonic Choir. A keen advocate of contemporary music, he has conducted world premieres of operatic, symphonic and choral works by Judith Bingham, Paul Mealor and Rory Boyle; he works regularly with Scotland’s foremost composers including the late Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Sir James MacMillan, Thea Musgrave and Sally Beamish.
